FAQs

Q?How does Total Trim manage the installation process?
A.

We have a team of project managers based in Florence, AL.  Each project manager runs multiple projects.  Each project is assigned an installation crew including a job foreman who is responsible for on-site supervision.  The job foreman maintains day-to-day communication with the project superintendent and attends weekly jobsite meetings.  The job foreman reports directly to the appropriate Total Trim project manager.

Q?With a turn-key package, how are factory-direct items such as builder’s hardware stored on site?
A.

Typically, we rent storage trailers or containers which are placed on site.  In cases where space is limited, we will utilize off-site storage facilities.

Q?How are doors and mouldings shipped to the jobsite?
A.

Exterior doors are shipped on Darby Trailers loaded per the customers building sequence.  These trailers can be unloaded or dropped on site.  If there are multiple loads, after the first trailer is emptied, the second trailer is delivered and the first trailer picked up.   Interior doors and mouldings are shipped in the same manner with the mouldings on the floor of the trailer and the doors loaded on top of the mouldings.

Q?Does Total Trim install windows and sliding glass doors?

Q?Does Total Trim offer limited installation of Darby supplied material?
A.

Yes, within limits.  Many times Total Trim installs interior trim, hardware and accessories while another contractor installs all exterior doors.  There must be enough work in the scope to make a partial installation contract feasible however.  For instance, a contract to install fire extinguishers only or bath accessories only would generally not be acceptable.
